NEW YORK (AP) _ Stocks that are moving substantially or trading heavily today on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Stock Market.


J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., down 96 cents at $36.91

The New York-based financial company reported a wider fourth-quarter loss than Wall Street expected, citing problems related to the Enron bankruptcy and Argentina’s deteriorating economy among other losses.

Boeing Co., down 77 cents at $38.58

Merrill Lynch issued a research note saying uncertainty about the economy and airline passenger traffic could limit the aircraft manufacturer’s growth over the next six to nine months.

Winnebago Industries Inc., up $2.89 at $39.79

The manufacturer of motor homes said it is increasing production because of a substantial increase in sales orders.


Handspring Inc., down $1.03 at $6.75

The maker of personal digital assistants, or PDAs, reported a narrower-than-expected second quarter loss but analysts said Wall Street is waiting to see how well its newest offerings sell in the sluggish economy.

Inspire Pharmaceuticals Inc., down $11.58 at $3.93

The pharmaceutical company said its dry-eye treatment did not meet its goals in a trial, but it will wait for results from a second trial before deciding whether to continue working on the product.

Intel Corp., down 53 cents at $34.15

The chipmaker’s fourth-quarter earnings easily beat Wall Street expectations, but its chief financial officer indicated it has yet to see a recovery.
