Nebraska men’s basketball adds recruit
In need of some frontcourt size after the late-July transfer of Jordy Tshimanga, the Nebraska men’s basketball team found its man yesterday.
The Lincoln Journal Star reports that Dedoch Chan, a 6’8, 210-pound forward from Minnesota, signed with the Huskers on the second day of an official visit to Lincoln. A transfer from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Chan will be an immediately eligible sophomore in 2018-19 and have three years of eligibility remaining. He averaged 16.8 points and 8.3 rebounds per game last season for the Warriors, leading the team in both categories on the way to first-team NJCAA All-Region 23 honors. Chan had eight double-doubles as a freshman. The addition leaves Nebraska with one open scholarship for the upcoming season. The Huskers have until Aug. 27, which is the final registration deadline for fall classes at UNL, to fill it.
