Candidates to Appear at Boulder County League of Women Voters October Forums

Signs directing Longmont voters to voter services and mail-in ballot drop off locations,

Residents will get the chance to compare and contrast candidates for county, state legislative and congressional offices at several forums the League of Women Voters of Boulder County has announced.

Those include:

• 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday Lafayette forum featuring Democrat Joe. Pelle and Republican John Bedrick, the candidates for Boulder County sheriff, as well as Republican Gary Cooper, Democrat Matt Jones and Green Party candidate Cliff Willmeng, the three people running for the District 3 Boulder County commissioner’s seat. That forum, co-sponsored by the Lafayette Youth Advisory Council, will be at the Lafayette Public Library, 775 West Baseline Road.

• 2 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 6 Longmont debate featuring the two candidates for Colorado’s 4th Congressional District seat, Republican Ken Buck and Democrat Karen McCormick. That debate, co-sponsored by the Longmont Observer, will be at the Longmont Museum and Cultural Center, 400 Quail Road.

• 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 10 Boulder forum featuring candidates for two state legislative seats. One is House District 10, whose candidates are Republican Murl S. Hendrickson IV and Democrat Edie Hooton. The second is House District 13, whose candidates are Democrat KC Becker and Republican Kevin Sipple. That forum will be held at Boulder’s Meadows Library, 4800 Baseline Road.

• 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 11 Lafayette forum featuring candidates for Colorado’s 2nd Congressional District seat. Running for that post are Libertarian Roger Barris, Democrat Joe Neguse, independent Nick Thomas and Republican Peter Yu. That forum, co-sponsored by the Lafayette Youth Advisory Committee, will be at the Lafayette Public Library, 775 West Baseline Road.
