Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico to sign new economic deals
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — The president of the Dominican Republic has arrived in Puerto Rico to sign several economic deals with the U.S. territory.
Danilo Medina is expected to meet with Gov. Alejandro Garcia Padilla on Tuesday as part of a one-day trip.
The deals were finalized by a committee created nearly two years that sought to strengthen ties between Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.
Garcia said he seeks to increase exports and imports well as help create more jobs.
