OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) _ Clarence Weatherspoon sprained his right ankle during the third quarter of the New York Knicks' game at Golden State on Tuesday night.

Weatherspoon, a starting forward for the Knicks, injured himself grabbing an uncontested rebound.

The Knicks said Weatherspoon, who scored 10 points as New York opened a 38-point lead over the Warriors in the third, wouldn't return.

If the injury is severe, it would be another blow to the Knicks' frontcourt depth. Marcus Camby hasn't played this season because of a foot injury.
